Fifth Street Baptist Church, founded over 100 years ago, is a rural church family rooted in a close‑knit community and grounded in traditional Christian values. Our congregation values biblical preaching, meaningful fellowship, and faithful service to one another and to our surrounding community. While small in size, we place a high priority on faithfulness, consistency, and relational ministry.
Our church facilities occupy an entire city block in Levelland, Texas. The sanctuary reflects a traditional design and features beautiful stained glass windows that contribute to a reverent and worshipful atmosphere. The building includes several smaller classrooms, a fully equipped nursery, and a dedicated children’s classroom to support our educational ministries. In addition, there are two large multi-purpose rooms, one of which includes a full kitchen and is often used for fellowship and church events. An upstairs classroom, known as The Loft, is designated for youth use and provides space for future ministry opportunities. Average weekly worship attendance ranges from approximately 35–65 people. Our size allows for strong personal connections, multi‑generational relationships, and a welcoming atmosphere where people are known and cared for.
Sunday School is an important part of our discipleship ministry. We currently offer three adult Sunday School classes and one children’s Sunday School class, providing opportunities for Bible study, discussion, and fellowship across age groups.
At this time, we do not have an organized youth group. However, we do host an AWANA children’s program on Wednesday evenings, which serves as a vital ministry to children and families in our community and reflects our commitment to teaching Scripture to the next generation.
Our congregation is made up primarily of older adults and is generally conservative and traditional in belief and practice. At the same time, we are thankful to have a few young families who are active in the life of the church, adding encouragement and intergenerational perspective to our fellowship.
In worship, we value a blended musical style, enjoying a mixture of traditional hymns and modern praise and worship songs. Our desire is for worship to be reverent, Christ‑centered, and accessible to all generations.
